What NurseMate ASAP is

Sterling Technology labels NurseMate ASAP for Puppies & Kittens as a colostrum booster. Each mL contains 970 mg of bovine colostrum, with biotin, vitamin B12 and folic acid. It comes in a 30 mL syringe, so you can give a measured 2 mL dose by mouth.

It is a supplement, not a replacement for nursing. Newborns still need to nurse from their mother or be fed a milk replacer such as Esbilac puppy milk replacer. Call your veterinarian about any puppy or kitten that is weak, cold or not nursing.

How to give it (label directions)

  1. Bring the syringe to room temperature.
  2. Give 2 mL by mouth as soon after birth as possible, or when you see reduced appetite or digestive irregularities.
  3. Give additional feedings as needed.

A 30 mL syringe holds 15 doses of 2 mL.

Storage

Refrigerate after opening to keep it as fresh as possible, and keep it from freezing. The label says NurseMate can be kept at room temperature for several months without adverse effects.
