Lisinopril Tablets 100ct

Lisinopril is an oral angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor, prescribed to help treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. It is sometimes used by veterinarians to treat heart failure, high blood pressure, certain types of heart valve disease, and some forms of kidney disease in companion animals. Customers may receive this drug under the names Prinivil, Zestril.

Uses

Lisinopril Tablets are indicated to help treat heart failure, high blood pressure as well as certain types of diseases related to the heart valve. It may also be prescribed for certain kidney diseases.

Possible Side Effects

Possible side effects may include loss of appetite, diarrhea and vomiting. It may also cause kidney dysfunction and low blood pressure.

Drug & Food Interactions

Lisinopril should not be used in pets who have demonstrated hypersensitivity to angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It should be used with caution and close supervision in pets with renal insufficiency and doses may need to be reduced.

Precautions

Consult your veterinarian before using in animals. Lisinopril should not be used in animals allergic to it or other ACE inhibitors. Use lisinopril with caution in animals with liver disease. Do not use in pregnant females. Lisinopril may be used in nursing animals. Use with caution in animals with very low blood sodium levels.

This drug is FDA-approved for human use. However, it is common practice for veterinarians to prescribe such drugs for use in dogs and cats.
