What Nobivac Intra-Trac KC is
Nobivac Intra-Trac KC is Merck Animal Health's two-way intranasal vaccine against canine parainfluenza virus (modified live) and Bordetella bronchiseptica (avirulent live culture), two common causes of canine infectious tracheobronchitis, which Merck also calls “canine cough.” Because it goes into the nose, it is given without a needle once it is mixed.
The “KC” version covers parainfluenza and Bordetella. Merck's Nobivac Intra-Trac 3 adds canine adenovirus type 2 and uses a larger dose; follow the label of whichever product you buy.
What Merck says about Nobivac Intra-Trac KC
Merck Animal Health states the following on its official product page:
- Fast onset. Rapid onset of protection within 72 hours for B. bronchiseptica.
- Small dose. A 0.4 mL dose given directly into one nostril for easy administration.
- Field safety. Over 99% reaction-free in a 1,289-dog field trial.
- Pregnant dogs. Safe for pregnant bitches in all trimesters.
Those are the manufacturer's statements. The label's warnings section also says fetal health risks of vaccinating pregnant animals cannot be unequivocally determined in licensing trials and should be discussed with a veterinarian, and that duration of immunity has not been established.
Who Nobivac Intra-Trac KC is for
The label covers healthy dogs 3 weeks of age or older. Ask your veterinarian whether and when your dogs should be vaccinated, for example ahead of boarding, shows or bringing in new dogs.

How to give Nobivac Intra-Trac KC (label directions)
- Aseptically transfer the contents of the sterile diluent vial into the Nobivac Intra-Trac KC vaccine vial.

The cooler and ice packs protect the vaccine from big temperature swings in transit; they are not meant to deliver it at refrigerator temperature.
